St. John’s Lutheran Church is a Christ-centered congregation. Since 1851 our church family has been committed to proclaiming the Gospel message of salvation by God’s grace alone through the redeeming work of Christ Jesus. We work to help our members grow in their lives of faith in Jesus and in their lives of service to him. We also work to carry out our mission of bringing those around us to know the saving truths of Christ crucified, risen, and living.
St. John’s is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
If you are new to the community, or if you are praying about a new church home, the doors of St. John’s are open to you. We invite you to join us as we worship our Savior, as we hear God’s Word proclaimed in its truth and purity, and as we minister and fellowship together.

St. John’s School has served the families of Jefferson and the surrounding communities for 130 years with excellent, Christ-centered education. We partner with parents so that children are fed daily with the Word of God, trained for life in the world, and grow to live with Jesus more and more each day.
Feeding with the Word
Our purpose as a Christian school is to share Jesus with our students, so that they know him, trust him, and love to serve him. Shining in our weekly chapel services, daily devotions, and Bible studies; permeating all our subjects; and supporting our relationships, is the Biblical truth that Jesus is our Savior, Creator, King, and Friend. Christian education feeds the soul with the Word.
Training for the World
At St. John’s we know that education is much more than content. Thinking critically and creatively to solve problems, communicating and collaborating with teammates, and developing attitudes of respect and responsibility are important components of our curriculum and programs and promote the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of our students. Christian education trains the child to use his or her gifts to serve in the world.
Living with Jesus
Life is full of teachable moments. As we feed with the Word and train for the world, our actions and interactions give many opportunities to live with Jesus. Weekly buddying activities, monthly and quarterly mission goals, and special service projects show how we can help our neighbors the next seat over, within our city limits, and even around the world. Christian education leads to lives of loving service.
